Waterbug by DavidKanePhotography Waterbug by DavidKanePhotography
Photographer: David Kane

For college we have to do a series of photos using unique equipment. One of them was the high speed flash set up. I ABSOLUTLY loved doing this!

This is my fave one, looks like a bug! A strip of blue over the flash.

Maybe the water reminds you of the type of music that would be in a car advert (it makes sense to me). I do remember reading about some guy (I cant remember his name) basically he is a water photographer doing exactly the type of images you have, he mentioned little tricks to get the water to be more err slow? by using glycerin syrup type stuff, he used lots of food colouring and crazy lighting stuff.. He did go ino details on how he done his effects but I am rubbish and cannot remember much about it! :P

For this image...

It was simply water dropping into a pool with a strip of blue paper in fron of the flash. For some of the others I done though we added bleach which has the same effect as syrup and we done some with dye too, they are all on my flickr if you want a nosey, I just added the best 2 here :D
